Summer Updates, DJ Sets and News Items

Good morning everyone, or as Jiyo would say: hi poggies ~ . Last week was mental. Code orange was officially declared by government  (no football pun intended, because if it were, code orange would last for at least a few more days). Code red didn't want to be left out and thought: 'that's cute, hold my beer', with the weather reaching temperatures almost 40 degrees and beyond. We've had two of the craziest thunderstorms coming over the city in years. Temperatures have luckily returned to much more digestible numbers. This blogpost is pretty much going to be another caffeine-fueled rambling madness (in luckily an air-conditioned teachers lounge). I love it.    Everything summarized, it's been quite an interesting period over the past few months. Ever since I dove into the rabbit hole that is known as VRChat somewhere last February, I've been spending quite a lot of time within its virtual realms (see previous blogpost). I still keep uncovering new things e...

Regression 6 - Production Update

Image
A quick production update regarding Regression 6. Production has been completed between 60-65%. I still have to dig through approximately 300-400 demo's before I am able to move on towards post-production. A couple of weeks ago I conducted a live stream during which I did some live work on Regression 6 by capturing new shots. I guess it's somewhat of a rare behind-the-scenes look as I normally never have done this kind of thing before. Maybe it's of interest, maybe it's super lame and uninspiring as most of my creative process happens in my head. You'll see me move the camera around and say "yes, this looks good". Anyway, I dunno. You're to judge.      Please find some new stills underneath. These were directly taken from the footage and are unedited:     Psst. There's one more thing. You've probably seen moving images of raw Regression 6 footage at the start of the stream. Want to see them in full screen? You can find them underneath:

Regression 6 summer update

Image
Here is a quick summer update regarding Regression 6. These are raw shots directly from the Rockstar Editor. I have been able to make some decent progress over the past few weeks and hope to continue doing so over the next few weeks. In terms of shot creation, I think I have been through 20-25% of all the demo clips. Still a significant amount of demo's to dive through though, but, hints of the final film are slowly becoming visible. Later this year I will post another update regarding the current state of affairs. Have a great summer everyone!

Checking out the Photo Mode on Hogwarts Legacy

Image
I can vividly remember myself actively wondering during a number of Hogwarts Legacy streams why there hasn't been a photo or video mode included with the game thus far. As the game took place somewhere in the late 1800's, the idea of including some kind of a magical 'lanterna magica' or 'pre-prototype photo camera' really appealed to me. Well, low and behold, I guess I wasn't the only one who really wanted this mode, as WB rolled out an update last night with a number of QoL improvements, free items, and of course: a fancy new photo mode! I had downloaded the update the night before but because of sleep deprivation did not check out the new game mode yet (something with watching youtube shorts all night, being braindrained and deciding it was a good idea to stream at 7am that same morning..) That is why I decided to do a stream tonight around 7.30PM and check out the new photo mode live! During the stream I check out all the different options the photo mode ...

February Update (Huge)

Image
It's time to catch up on what is going on behind the scenes! There's quite a bit going on, so let's start right away. A new milestone for Incantaro The edit for Incantaro has been definitively locked last weekend after the grading process was completed on sunday alongside the final selection of shots that are to be featured in the film. This means that in terms of visuals, the film has finally been considered complete and definitive. Incantaro clocks in at a runtime of approximately seven to seven and a half minutes and uses the idea of 'burst consumption' that was described in my earlier post from October last year. The grading process was quite extensive and exhausting at times, so I do really consider this a milestone. Sometimes I was grading shots for hours on end that literally lasted four to ten frames, which could make feel the progress real slow at times. Yet, in the end, it was all worth it when all the shots were neatly lined up on the timeline.   I always...
