Regression 6 summer update

Image
Here is a quick summer update regarding Regression 6. These are raw shots directly from the Rockstar Editor. I have been able to make some decent progress over the past few weeks and hope to continue doing so over the next few weeks. In terms of shot creation, I think I have been through 20-25% of all the demo clips. Still a significant amount of demo's to dive through though, but, hints of the final film are slowly becoming visible. Later this year I will post another update regarding the current state of affairs. Have a great summer everyone!

Tonight's Neuro-Sama Karaoke

Image
There was another Neuro-Sama Karaoke Night tonight during which Neuro sang a new batch of songs, including a few duets with her sister Evil. They're also singing Japanese songs now, pretty much natively. It still blows my mind that AI can do this. Their voices have improved in general as well.

Checking out the Photo Mode on Hogwarts Legacy

Image
I can vividly remember myself actively wondering during a number of Hogwarts Legacy streams why there hasn't been a photo or video mode included with the game thus far. As the game took place somewhere in the late 1800's, the idea of including some kind of a magical 'lanterna magica' or 'pre-prototype photo camera' really appealed to me. Well, low and behold, I guess I wasn't the only one who really wanted this mode, as WB rolled out an update last night with a number of QoL improvements, free items, and of course: a fancy new photo mode! I had downloaded the update the night before but because of sleep deprivation did not check out the new game mode yet (something with watching youtube shorts all night, being braindrained and deciding it was a good idea to stream at 7am that same morning..) That is why I decided to do a stream tonight around 7.30PM and check out the new photo mode live! During the stream I check out all the different options the photo mode

RELEASE: Regression 5

Image
It has been eight months since the release of Regression 4 last september. At the time of release it marked the start of a new, exciting era for the Regression film as they enjoyed a new and exciting major technical upgrade compared to the first three installments with the introduction of 4K DCI resolutions and higher levels of cinematic grading . With a runtime of 13 minutes, a new exciting angle of interest within the boundaries of 'movement' and overall fantastic reception, Regression 4 became a new groundbreaking entry in this highly acclaimed machinima series.  Now, 8 months later, it's time to release Regression 5: an experimental 'fly-on-the-wall' visual study of the Grand Theft Auto V map seen through the perspective of a (hot-headed) taxi driver. The game's vast map is explored this time from the view of a single taxi cab, similar to the submarine approach found in Regression 4 but with ever-changing surroundings and weather. The runtime of the film has

RELEASE: Incantaro

Image
Incantaro Today, we'll be traveling back in time. Twenty-two years to be exact; to relive past events of when the Chamber of Secrets was re-opened. A past, relived, once again, as today marks the release of 'Incantaro': an experimental visual study and outlook on the 2002 rendition of the Harry Potter universe found within the GameCube port of 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' . Developed by Eurocom and Published by EA in November of 2002, Incantaro is my very first console-based machinima project and sheds light on a game that is considered for many, myself included, a hidden gem, somewhat underrated and a highly personal favorite. The name Incantaro is a word-play on the word incantatum, which is quite fitting for a film taking place inside of the Harry Potter universe. The film was recorded solely inside of the Dolphin emulator, a piece of software that allows users to play Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo Wii games on a computers. While doing so

February Update (Huge)

Image
It's time to catch up on what is going on behind the scenes! There's quite a bit going on, so let's start right away. A new milestone for Incantaro The edit for Incantaro has been definitively locked last weekend after the grading process was completed on sunday alongside the final selection of shots that are to be featured in the film. This means that in terms of visuals, the film has finally been considered complete and definitive. Incantaro clocks in at a runtime of approximately seven to seven and a half minutes and uses the idea of 'burst consumption' that was described in my earlier post from October last year. The grading process was quite extensive and exhausting at times, so I do really consider this a milestone. Sometimes I was grading shots for hours on end that literally lasted four to ten frames, which could make feel the progress real slow at times. Yet, in the end, it was all worth it when all the shots were neatly lined up on the timeline.   I always
